Application description

Widely used in electrical switchgear, busbars, transformer windings, and grounding systems (pure copper). Also suitable for roofing, flashing, gutters, and architectural cladding (decorative patina). Brass plates are used for nameplates, decorative trim, and mechanical components. Bronze plates serve as wear plates, bearings, and marine hardware. Excellent corrosion resistance and conductivity make it ideal for industrial, electrical, and architectural applications.

Production description

Copper ingot is heated and hot rolled to reduce thickness, then cold rolled to achieve precise dimensions and surface finish. Intermediate annealing softens the material. The sheet/plate is then leveled, cut to size, pickled or polished, and inspected for thickness and flatness.

Shipping Packaging

For export, copper sheets/plates are interleaved with kraft paper or plastic film, wrapped with VCI paper and moisture-proof polyethylene, packed on ISPM-15 wooden pallets, secured with steel straps, and fitted with edge protectors. Labels include grade, dimensions, temper, and heat number for safe sea freight.

Why Choose Us?

1.Factory Strength:Direct manufacturer with hot rolling and cold rolling mills, precision leveling lines, and annealing furnaces, producing copper sheet/plate in pure copper (T2, TP2, C11000, C12200), brass (H59–H90), and bronze (QSn, QAl, C51900) with thickness 0.5–100mm, width up to 3000mm.

2.Quality Assurance:Strict control of chemical composition, electrical conductivity (≥97% IACS for pure copper), mechanical properties (tensile, yield, elongation, hardness), and flatness (≤3mm/m); 100% dimensional and surface inspection; compliant with ASTM B152, EN 1652, JIS H3100, GB/T 2040.

3.Certifications & Reports:Mill test certificates (MTC) with each shipment; third-party inspections (SGS, BV) and test reports (conductivity, tensile, hardness, intergranular corrosion) available upon request.

4.Customization & Service:Wide alloy range (pure copper, brass, bronze), thickness 0.5–100mm, custom widths up to 3000mm, custom lengths up to 12000mm, tempers (soft, half hard, hard), surface finishes (hot rolled, cold rolled, polished, pickled, embossed), and fast lead times.

5.Export Packaging:Interleaved kraft paper/plastic film + VCI paper + moisture-proof polyethylene + ISPM-15 wooden pallets + steel strapping + edge protectors + clear labeling for safe sea freight and corrosion prevention.

FAQ

1. How to store copper sheets/plates to prevent tarnishing and surface damage?

Store in dry, clean indoor area on wooden pallets, keep original interleaving paper and VCI wrapping intact. Avoid contact with acids, ammonia, or rubber. For long-term storage, maintain humidity below 60%. Minor tarnish can be cleaned with a mild acid solution or abrasive pad before use.

2. Can copper plates be cut, bent, or welded easily?

Yes. Use shearing, sawing, or laser cutting for sheet; plasma or sawing for thicker plates. Bending is best done with soft (annealed) temper; use a press brake with a large radius to avoid cracking. Welding: pure copper can be TIG or MIG with deoxidized filler (ERCu); brass and bronze require appropriate flux and filler. Pre-cleaning is essential.

3. What is the difference between pure copper, brass, and bronze plates for electrical and structural use?

Pure copper (T2, C11000) offers highest electrical conductivity (≥97% IACS), excellent thermal conductivity, and good corrosion resistance – ideal for busbars, grounding, and heat exchangers. Brass (copper-zinc) provides higher strength, better machinability, and decorative gold color – used for nameplates and mechanical parts. Bronze (copper-tin) offers superior wear resistance and corrosion in seawater – suitable for bearings, wear plates, and marine hardware.
