Application

Construction,Machine decoration and industry

Application description

Widely used in precision machining (shafts, pins, bushings, gears), aerospace components, automotive parts (pistons, suspension links), marine fittings, electrical connectors, fasteners (bolts, rivets), and structural frameworks. Also suitable for handrails, furniture legs, sporting goods (bicycle crank arms, climbing anchors), and general engineering prototypes. The combination of lightweight, strength, and excellent machinability makes it ideal for both industrial and consumer products.

Production description

Aluminum billet is heated and extruded or cold drawn through a die to achieve the desired shape (round, square, hexagonal, etc.). The bar is then stretched and straightened, heat treated (T4, T5, T6, etc.) to enhance mechanical properties, and cut to length. Optional surface finishing includes turning, polishing, or anodizing. Finished bars are inspected for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

Shipping Packaging

For export, aluminum bars are bundled with interleaved paper or plastic separators, wrapped with VCI paper and moisture-proof polyethylene, packed on ISPM-15 pallets, secured with steel straps, and fitted with edge protectors. Labels include alloy, shape, dimensions, length, and heat number for safe sea freight.

Why Choose Us?

1.Factory Strength:Direct manufacturer with precision extrusion and cold drawing lines, heat treatment furnaces (T4/T5/T6/T651), and straightening equipment, producing round, square, flat, hexagonal, and octagonal bars with tight tolerances (cold drawn ±0.05mm, ground ±0.02mm).

2.Quality Assurance:Strict control of alloy composition (6061, 6063, 7075, 2024, etc.), mechanical properties (tensile, yield, elongation), hardness, and surface finish; 100% dimensional and visual inspection; compliant with ASTM B221, EN 755, JIS H4040, GB/T 3191.

3.Certifications & Reports:Mill test certificates (MTC) with each shipment; third-party inspections (SGS, BV) and chemical/mechanical test reports (including tensile, hardness, electrical conductivity) available upon request.

4.Customization & Service:Wide alloy range (6060/6061/6063/6082/7075/2024/5052/5083), shapes (round 3–300mm, square 3–150mm, flat 3×10–20×200mm, hex 4–80mm, custom), lengths up to 8m, tempers (O, T4, T5, T6, T651/T6511), and surface finishes (mill, cold drawn, turned, polished, anodized) with fast lead times.

5.Export Packaging:Interleaved paper/plastic separators + VCI paper + moisture-proof wrapping + ISPM-15 pallets + steel strapping + edge protectors + clear labeling for safe sea freight and scratch-free delivery.

FAQ

1. How to store aluminum bars to prevent surface oxidation and scratches?

Store in dry, clean area on wooden pallets or racks, keep original protective wrapping intact. Avoid direct contact with concrete, wet ground, or dissimilar metals (copper, steel) to prevent galvanic corrosion. Use soft separators between layers for polished or anodized bars. For long-term storage, keep indoors and maintain humidity below 60%.

2. What is the difference between 6061 and 7075 aluminum bars for high-stress applications?

6061 offers good strength, excellent weldability, and corrosion resistance, suitable for structural frames, machinery parts, and marine components. 7075 is much stronger (tensile strength up to 570 MPa vs 310 MPa for 6061) but less weldable and less corrosion resistant, ideal for aerospace, military, and high-performance sporting goods where weight-saving and extreme strength are critical.

3. Can aluminum bars be machined (turned, milled, drilled) easily?

Yes. Aluminum is known for excellent machinability. Use sharp carbide tools, proper coolant/lubricant, and moderate speeds. 6061 and 6063 machine well with good chip formation. 7075 is also machinable but more abrasive. Cold drawn or extruded bars provide consistent properties. Avoid excessive heat to prevent material softening. For best surface finish, use polished or cold drawn bars.
